I have finally published my first book. But will any one want to pay to read my story?
A Fool’s Errand – a tough nut’s guide to roughing it in Australia
This is the story of Andrew; a middle-aged Australian man with a troubled childhood who escaped the madness of an alcoholic home to the library. His life was turned around by an act of Christian charity; when a believer he met at a free BBQ in the park paid his Boy Scout fees. It made him a man fit to survive in the harsh world of homelessness, madness, and addiction. It sets a critical eye on the absurdities of the mental health and addiction system in Australia; not even AA escapes its critical eye and introduces you to some of the bizarre characters you might meet in mental health circles. His story deals with a dark subject in a bright light. It is a deeply philosophical psycho-spiritual odyssey with a Christian message, a happy ending, and a few laughs.
This book will appeal to Christians and others that believe in miracles of recovery and those that deal with madness, that is: those who have a mental health issue, those who know some one with a mental health issue and those who work in mental health. This book sould be compulsory reading in Australian university psychology.

I have written the book, I have published the book; now I have to sell the book. I feel it is a good story, good characters, good message, good writing style. It is a bit lacking in detail, I have used an unorthodox punctuation style and there’s the short chapters called rants in the style of Don Quixote; but maybe that’s my style? I have some confidence with it, but it is full of little mistakes; it desperately needs propper editing. Can I sell the book in this condition? While I was writing it I was thinking I would sell it on street corners while busking. But what are the chances of selling a book to a nightclub drunk on Saturday night? But if enough people buy it maybe I can get it edited for a reprint?
I am hoping to get a hundred books together to do a book launch in Darwin next dry. Maybe they will let me use The Green House if I ask nice?
